Polar Help Desk 5 Beta Release

We are pleased to announce that, after many months of development, the public beta release of a Polar Help Desk 5 software is now available. We have been using beta for our official customer support for more than the three months, and it is considered to be stable and intended for help desk software users communities to use for early evaluation.
Polar help desk software 5 beta is a simple and effective web-based customer support solution that supports all major web browsers, high level of customization, and can follow both, organizational and market changes. It represents a major milestone and the beginning of the new generation software in Polar help desk software development.

How is Polar Help Desk 5 Beta Different

The major difference between Polar help desk 5 beta and Polar’s previous releases was as much about feature set,  as much about software architecture and protocol used. Our goal was to build a stable, scalable base that can capitalize on customization via integration with other business applications, widgets and form implementation, features adding etc.

We believe that such a solid base will be able to respond to increased customers’ behavior changes, ways they demand support, and, thus, ensure you continuality in providing an effective, outstanding support service.

Polar help desk 5 beta uses RESTful API protocols and standard JSON data format that will give you more flexibility in organizing and integrating your support processes with internal business operations.
A brief list of other major changes includes:

  • clean URLs (URL rewriting), e.g. yourhelpdesk.com/incidnet/1
  • much simpler and customizable permissions for every user
  • interactive API interface for widgets and developers
  • customizable email notifications
  • improved email account handling, full support for html emails
  • support for all major browsers
  • adjustable time-zone

Our focus was also on following ITIL standards, that connect support services with internal organizational processes, and improvements in user interface design so you, your customer and support personnel can use it easy and quickly.
